To build a strong community we need to be training new Drupal developers. Drupal has a steep learning curve. It's important that we keep attracting students to study Drupal and that we have an efficient way to make these students competent developers.

Brief Description:

[This talk will be in Español - to save time, I've written the proposal in English but I will give the talk in Spanish]
Why is it important to train new developers in Drupal? Why is it so hard to do this? How can we identify potential talent? What are the core Drupal skills that we should teach students? What's the best way to do this? I'll use my experience teaching Drupal in Arequipa at the national university to discuss what has worked and what hasn't.

Speaker's Biography:
David worked for many years for an Australian bank which has some of Australia's largest Drupal installations. He now works with a Christian mission in Peru, teaches a Drupal course at university in Arequipa and helps with some Drupal projects.
